Kenneth Lee Phelps, 64, of Flat Rock died Thursday June 12,2008 at 9:00 am at Waldron Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Phelps was a heavy equipment operater and loved drag
racing . He was Southwestern High School graduate where he
played basketball from 1959 untill 1961 and had held the leading
scoring record for many years.
The funeral will conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Gerald Hancock
officiating. Calling will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in Flat Rock Cemetery.

Born in Shelbyville October 28, 1943, Mr Phelps was the son of Erstle and Vona Brinson Phelps.
Survivors include daughters Amy (husband Jon) Beyer of Shelbyville and Stefanie Russell of Terre Haute ;brothers Carl
Phelps of Columbus, Ray Phelps of Hope, and Dennis and Ronnie Phelps both of Shelbyville; a sister Kathy Dutcher of Greensburg; Stepsisters Jackie Burton of Seymour and JoHelen "Jody" Siler of North Vernon; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several aunts,uncles,nieces , nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Shane McDonald; brothers Roy and Roger D. Phelps; and a stepbrother
Donald "Corky" Baker.
