Kenneth A. Ziegler, 64 of Scipio passed away at 11:45 p.m. Thursday April 28, 2011 at his home.
Kenneth was graduate of Columbus High School and a graduate of Sam's Technical Institute in Indianapolis, a member of Hope United Mehodist Church and served in the National Guard, 1313th Engineering Co. from 1967 until 1975. He had previously worked at Cummins Engine Co. and Charleston Powder Plant. He worked for WTI out of Cleveland, Ohio until his retirement in 2009. He was a supervisor for the Mid Central Region.
Kenneth enjoyed his work and the people he worked with very much. He also farmed his family farm in Clifty township. Kenneth enjoyed gardening , hunting and fishing with his great grandson, Adam. His family was everything to him.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Dr. Phillip Rogers officiating. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 pm and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time . Burial with military graveside rites will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Jennings or Pancreatic Cancer.
Born March 15, 1947 in Shelbyville, Kenneth was the son of Charles Daily and Ruth I. Kissling Ziegler. He married Juanita F. Powers on June 14, 1985 and she survives.
Other survivors include daughters Teresa (Roger,Sr.) Barnes of Elizabethtown and Kim (Jeff) Sallee of Columbus; grandchildren Kerri and Brad Alesandro, Jimmy(Kristina) Robertson, Zachary Roberts and Jeffrey Chad Minor all of Columbus and Chelsea Minor of New Albany; great grandchildren Kayleigh Bowling. Jacob Corya and Adam Alesandro all of Columbus; siblings Bill Ziegler of Wabash, Janice (Dennis) Hoeltke and Linda (Tom) Ritchey both of Columbus; nieces and nephews April, Chad, Ryan, and Jeremy Hoeltke, Carla Persons , Kevin Ziegler, David J. and Cale Romine and several great nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents , a son Jeffrey Minor and a sister-in-law Jan Ziegler.
