Lilian "Kay" Mayes, 79, of Columbus passed away Wednesday at Traditions Assisted Living.

Born November 13, 1944 in Wallasey, England she was the daughter of Herman O. and Lilian Hughes Henderson.  She married Larry Mayes November 16, 1969 and he preceded her in death.

Before retirement Kay was a registered nurse and was employed in the nursing field.

Kay was a previous member of Alert Methodist Church.

She was an IU fan.

Kay is survived by brothers, Eric (Betty) Henderson of Westport and Steve (Linda) Henderson of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and a brother Mike Henderson.

There will be a graveside service for Kay at 11:00 am Monday at Garland Brook Cemetery.  The location in the cemetery is Section 90, lot 11.  Arrangements were entrusted to Norman Funeral Home in Hope.
