Lillian Iris Whitford Kent, 92 of Hope passed away at 7:59 am Saturday March 27, 2010 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Kent served as a minister's wife with the United Brethren Church, serving at churches in Anderson, Alexandria, Rugby, Huntington, Warren, New Castle and Williamsport, IN and Sherkston, Canada.
She enjoyed baking, cooking and helping the elderly. She was a member of the Rugby United Brethren Church and Womens Missionary Fellowship
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Calling will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 and Wednesday from 10:00 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Aging and Community Serrvices of South Central Indiana.
Born January 30, 1918 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Mrs. Kent was the daughter of Ernest and Jesse Howard Whitford.
She married Rev. Archie Kent September 17, 1938 in Toronto and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include; daughters, Rose Law of Hope and Ruth Ann Reed of Columbus; grandchildren, Daniel Law and David (Christi) Law both of Hope, Lisa Smith of Franklin, Patrick (Courtney) Reed and Donovan Reed both of Dallas, TX; seven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and one niece, Susan Sweetman of Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rev. Archie Kent; daughter, Lillian Kent; son, John Kent; sister Ella Theobalt and great grandson Dustin Smith.
