Obituary

Logan S. "Jack" Wheelden, 74 of Columbus died Saturday March 20, 2010 at Richard Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis after a lengthy illness.
He was owner and operator of Jack's Transmission in Columbus for over 25 years and had also worked as a security guard for Allied Security. He had attended Hawcreek Baptist Church. He served in the Air Force from 1952 - 1962 and was also in the National Guard.
He loved NASCAR, fishing, camping and hunting.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Chaplain William Overbey officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 at the funeral home and from 9:30 until service time thursday morning. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites to be performed.

Born on march 21, 1935 in North Vernon, IN, Mr. Wheelden was the son of Logan Summerfield and Helen Stricker Wheelden.
He was later adopted by his step father David Wheelden.
Survivors include two daughters; Ruth Ann (Speedy) Miller and Judy (Andy) Wingham both of Columbus; brothers, Harry Wheelden of Queensville and David Wheelden of Indianapolis; a sister, Stell Baumann of Indianapolis; granddaughters, Mackenzie, Marin and Macy Wingham of Columbus and his former wife, Ruth Wheelden.
Mr. Wheelden was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Fred Wheelden and son Paul Wheelden.
