Lonnie Lorraine Bennett, 86, of Hope, died Monday June 4, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born November 1, 1933 in Topeka, KS Lonnie was the daughter of Otto and Mildred Bell Nielson. She married James Thompson and when he preceded her in death she then married John Eudy and when he preceded her in death she married Smiley Bennett and he preceded her in death also.
Lonnie was owner and operator of Lonnie's Market. In later years she was employed at Ken Joy Nursing Home and Miller's Merry Manor as a cook.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hope. She loved collecting knick-knacks.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Hope Volunteer Fire Department.
In keeping with Lonnie's wishes she will be cremated and inurnment of her cremains will be at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum.
Lonnie's survivors include children, Rebecca (David) Reddick of Camby, Teresa (Mick) Turner of Hope and Frank (Rhonda) Thompson of Columbus; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings, Wanda Marvin of Ohio, Lawrence Nielson and James Nielson, both of Hope and Frank Nielson of California.
Lonnie is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; a son, Doug Thompson; sisters, Beverly Birdsall and Janice Allman.
