Lorraine "Lori" Bowers, 75, of Columbus passed away Tuesday August 5,2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born December 20,1949 in Staten Island, NY Lori was the daughter of Edward Kowaleski and Genevieve Kashavsky Kowaleski.  She married Vernon Bowers June 8,2002 and he survives.

Lori had previously been employed at Miller's Merry Manor as a nurse's aide and had also worked in the laundry and housekeeping department.

Lori enjoyed camping, NASCAR, knitting, crocheting and puzzles.

She loved all animals and loved spending time on the Flatrock river and spending time with her family.

Lori is survived by her husband Vernon of Columbus; children, Christy Drake of Elizabethtown, Linda Schubert of Columbus, Douglas (Stephanie) Bowers of Seattle, WA, Marsha (Carey) Whitman of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Maddox Drake, Matthew Bowers, Anna Whitman, Samuel Whitman, Monica Whitman and four grand dogs.

As per Lori's wishes she was cremated. There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday August 23,2025 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents and Ann Marie Brown.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Bartholomew County Humane Society.
