Obituary

Lucille A. Wendel, 79 of Columbus, died Sunday morning, September 28, 2014 at Our Hospice of South
Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Lucille lived graciously with breast cancer for the last 15 years and thecancer had taken a toll on her body. Remember the beautifulfriendly person that she was and now is in heaven with our LORDJesus
Christ. Lucille was born in Columbus, Indiana September 20, 1935, thedaughter of Matilda and Martin Boxman. She was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Sheenjoyed gardening and being with her family. Lucille was a bookkeeper for Union Starch, Sears, Green Barn andA. Wendel Services Company. She married Bob Wendel in 1956 and he survives. Other survivors include, daughter, Carol Wendel (Maurice) Jordan ofColumbus; son, Paul (Lisa) Wendel of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua(Suzanne) Jordan, Angela Jordan,Jason Jordan, Kyle(Bethany)Wendel, Kaitlin Wendel, Korey Wendel and Samantha Wendel; great grandsons, Luke and Noah Jordan. A memorial service will be
conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter'sLutheran Church. Family and friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m.until service time. Memorial contributions may be donated to St. Peter's Lutheran Church,Attn. Christian Service Guild, 719 5th St., Col., IN 47201 or to Our Hospiceof South Central Indiana, 2626 E 17th St., Col., IN 47201. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steve Wendel; sister, Ethel Lohr; two young sisters and her brother. Howard F. Boxman who died on a bomber mission over France.
