Madesta Ruth (Thomas) Ray, 97, formerly of Hope, IN passed
away Monday November 16th at Silver Oaks Health Center in Columbus, IN.
Mrs. Ray had lived in Seymour, IN with a daughter for 7 years before
moving to Columbus.
Mrs. Ray was a homemaker most of her life.
Born November 10th, 1918 in Anderson, IN. Madesta was the daughter
of Walter H. and Frances H. (Beatty) Thomas. She married Charles P. Ray
April 22, 1940 and he preceded her in death March 12, 1998.
Survivors include; Lynn Hedden of Seymour, IN, Virginia (David) Palmer
of Indianapolis, IN, Anita (Tom) Beeker of Hope, IN, Charles (Kim) Ray of
Hartsville, IN, Roxanne (David) Lortz of Flat Rock, IN and Nancy (Jay)
Shoaf also of Hope, IN.; nineteen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren,
thirty two great grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
Madesta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons;
Robert A. and Richard P. Ray, a grandson, Daniel T. Beeker and a step-
grandson, Dave Palmer.
Arrangements were made through Norman Funeral Home in Hope, IN.
Cremation is planned and a private ceremony will be held by the family
at a later date.
