Margaret L. Harter, 83, of Hope, died Friday, May 18, 2018 at Columbus Transitional Care.

Margaret spent most of her life as a housewife. She attended The Cross of Hope.

She loved animals and raised dogs. She enjoyed doing carpentry work around the house.

Born on March 2, 1935 in Salem, IN, Margaret was the daughter of Everett and Dorothy Wade Leach. She married Ray Harter on April 27, 1960, and he survives.

Other survivors include sons, Jerry Harter of Salem and Larry Harter of Hope; one grandson; and two sisters, Lonie Bell and Shirley.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roger.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service. Cremation will follow. Inurnment at Hawcreek Cemetery will take place at a later date.
