Obituary

Marilyn Maxine Percifield, 89, of Columbus, formerly of Newbern, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 21, 2021. Mrs. Percifield was born May 11, 1932, in Seymour, Ind. to Wavie & Eva Stoner. Married to the late Everett Dwight Percifield for 56 years, she is survived by her son, Steven Percifield of Noblesville; a daughter, Jan (Trent) Nentrup of Hope; grandchildren, Eric Nentrup of Indianapolis; Brian (Stephanie) Nentrup of Fairland; Jennifer (Lance) Erb of Columbus; Justin Smith of Alaska; and Kirsten (Jonathon) Brown of Indianapolis; and by great-grandchildren, Annabelle Nentrup, Beau Nentrup, Silas Percifield, Greyson Erb, Wyatt Nentrup, Harper Kueppers, Finnton Erb, Luna Brown, Hazel Brown, and Adelon Erb.

She enjoyed nature, whether gardening, bird-watching, or spending time on a porch swing. Her home was always filled with cats, backyard bouquets, unique collections, homemade goods, and partially finished puzzles. Her greatest joy later in life came from visiting with her great-grandchildren and friends.

Mrs. Percifield will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her, as well as her cat Roxy. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, June 1 at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus. The family asks those who attend to share a story or memory commemorating Mrs. Percifield's life. Calling will be from 1:30pm to service time at the gravesite. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Bartholomew County.
