Marjie E. Pennington, 67 of Flat Rock died at 9:00 pm. Wednesday at Indiana
University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Marjie had worked at Rush Memorial Hospital, Flat Rock Restaurant and in several nursing homes. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church , United
Methodist Women, Friendly Neighbors Home Ec. Club and attended Womens' Christian
Connection. She loved to do scrapbooking and to read.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home
in Hope with the Rev. Ron Thomas officiating. Calling will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at
the funeral home and also on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at
Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Born in Rushville on August 22, 1940 she was the daughter of Marion F. and Lillian Faurote Rider.
Survivors include faithfull and loving companion Ellis Starnes of Flat Rock;
a son, Jay Alan (Laura) Pennington of Mendon, MI.; daughters Mary Jo Kimberlin of
Trenton, NC and Penny Ann (Peter) Bullard of Connersville; Stepdaughters, Bobette
(Tom) Robbins and Desiree Starnes both of Greensburg; grandchildren, Jason Pennington,
Natasha (Scott) Ogden, Jonathan Pennington, Bryce Wesseler, Jeremy Bullard, Jasmin
Kimberlin, & Samantha and Sean Bullard; great grandchildren, Tara Lynn and Allie Marie
Jarmin; a brother, Sherman Rider of Tenn.; sisters, Shirley Moore of Connersville, Judith
Secrest of Calif. and Marilyn Pennington of Rushville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
