Mary F. Bowers Legan, 56, of Hope, died Friday, November 24, 2017 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mary was a registered nurse and had worked at Columbus Regional Hospital for 35 years. She was currently working as a clinical case manager.

She was a member of Church of Christ in Edinburgh and Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading. Mary loved her job and enjoyed getting to help people. She was a very kind-hearted and caring person.

Born on January 24, 1961 in Shelbyville, Mary was the daughter of John Bowers and Pauline Proffitt Engle. She married Michael Legan on July 27, 1986, and he survives.

Other survivors include her mother, Pauline of Columbus; one aunt; several cousins; and her many friends on the sixth floor at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mary is preceded in death by her grandparents and father.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
