Maurice Dwayne Tennell, 83 of
Flat Rock
passed away Wednesday
March 12, 2014 at the Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He served 30 years as a First

Before retirement he was owner and operator of Tennell's Small
Engine Repair in Flat Rock. He had previously been employed at
Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Shelbyville.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He served 30 years as a First
Responder for the Flat Rock Fire Department and served on the Citizen's
Committee in Flat Rock.
He loved driving garden tractors in tractor pulls and was a member of
the Southern Indiana Tractor Pullers Association.
Visitation for Maurice will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m . at Norman Funeral

Home in Hope. No service is planned and cremation will follow visitation.
Burial of his cremains will be at Flat Rock Cemetery at a later date.

Megan Fry of Bedford and Heather Boling of North Vernon; 7 step grandchildren;
2 great grandchildren; siblings, Harold (Martha) Tennell of Franklin, Ronnie
(Jean) Tennell of Flat Rock and Rose Hellmich of Greensburg.
