Obituary

Max E. Lawson, 71 of Columbus, died Monday May 30, 2011 at
Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
He was retired from Cummins where he had worked for 32 years.
He had also worked at the Bartholomew County Landfill and was currently
working at Real World Testing.
He was a member of Hope Masonic Lodge #150 where he was a past
master and currently served as secretary. He was also a member of Seymour
Masonic Lodge # 146 and the Scottish Rite.
He enjoyed gardening, I.U. Basketball, his two Dobermans, farming and traveling.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with
Rev. Ron Bridgewater officiating. Burial will follow at White River Valley Cemetery
in Medora. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm and Thursday from 10:00 am
until service time at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held at 8:00 pm
Wednesday.

Born December 31, 1939 in Sparksville, Indiana, Mr. Lawson was the son of
Russell Lawson and Evelyn Shoults Lawson Spears. He married Belva Harcourt
January 29, 1965 at First Christian Church in Columbus and she survives.
Others survivors include; a son, Michael (Kay) Lawson of Vero Beach, Fl.;
daughters, Treva (Dave) Lambert of Columbus, Regina (Shanon) Ping of Columbus
and Katrina (Mike Moniz) Ross of Greensburg; grandchildren, Shawn (Arley) Arnold,
Jason Arnold, Amanda (Wane) Rogers, Joshua Ross, Brittany (Dewey) Barrett, Joey
Ross and Hayley Ping; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Annalee Dunkin of Port St. Lucie, Fl,
and Carol Wheeler of Vallonia and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Richard "Dick" and
Joe Lawson and a sister, Juanita Palmer.
