Max Shepherd's Obituary
Max Shepherd, 80, of Hartsville, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
He spent the last two years of his life residing at Miller's Merry Manor.
Max was a machinist at Rockwell Automation and other factories for over 30 years.
He was a member of Hartsville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR, other auto racing, and watching Classic Westerns. He also enjoyed visiting and hanging with friends.
Born on February 18, 1937 in Clifford, Max was the son of Grant and Lura Robertson Shepherd. He married Maria L. Lockhart on Aug. 6, 1973, and she survives.
Other survivors include son, Eric E. Shepherd of Hartsville; two children from a previous marriage, Jennifer McNealy and Roger Shepherd, both of Greensburg; sisters, Maxine Howard and Ruth Boyle, both of Hartsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Max is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Thelma; and brother, Russell Shepherd.
Cremation is planned and a family gathering will be held at a later date.
