Maxine Sturgeon's Obituary
Maxine Sturgeon, 87 of Flat Rock passed away Monday October 6, 2008 at Major Hospital.
She was a homemaker and a former cook at Southwestern High School in Shelby Co. She was a member of Flat Rock Christian Church and loved spending time with her family.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday October 9 at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with George Plantz officiating. Calling will be Wed. from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hawcreek Baptist Cemetery near Hope.
Memorial contributions may be made to Flat Rock Christian Church Building Fund.
Born in Waldron April 27, 1921 , Maxine was the daughter of Claude and Myrtle Endicott Goodwin. She married Charles W. Sturgeon Jan. 19, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Charles E. (Darlene) Sturgeon of Shelbyville; a daughter, Jean A. (Jack Baker) Trimnell of Memphis, IN; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Foy, Robert, Thomas, Glen and Verl Goodwin and twin sisters, Thelma and Velma Goodwin.
