Melva A. Barr, 94 of Columbus died Sunday Dec. 2, 2012 at Kindred
Health Care Center.
Mrs. Barr had been a bookkeeper for several businesses. She was a
member of Burnsville Christian Church, a member of the Women in Construction Club and she loved to paint.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Dan Shaw officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at Garland Book Cemetery.
Born in Warren Co., Indiana December 7, 1917, Mrs. Barr was the
daughter of James and Bertha "Birdie" Evans VanEst. She married Allen Barr on Aug. 15, 1937 and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son-in- law, John Bayless of Glasgow, KY.;
granddaughter, Heather (Garrett ) Bowling of Newburgh, grandson, John (Beth) Bayless of Oshkosh, WI.; great grandchildren, Morgan, Kathie Nathan, Brooke and Matthew and several cousins.
Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and several brothers and sisters.
