Obituary

Melvin Mann, 84, of Edinburgh, formerly of Flat Rock, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014, at The Masonic Home in Franklin.

Before retiring, he was a truck driver for Kroger. He was a 50-year member of Farmer's Masonic Lodge No. 147 in Norristown and a 50-year member of the Scottish Rite. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and loved trap shooting, gardening and taking care of his family.

There will be a private family viewing and Masonic service at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery in the town of Flat Rock.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Flat Rock Christian Church.

Born March 28, 1929 in Riley, Ky. , Melvin was the son of Dewey and Viola Lindsey Mann. He married Ella Followell April 30, 1955, and she survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Pam Thomas (John Lynch) of Edinburgh; a grandson, Brad (Megan) Martin of Flat Rock; great-grandchildren Ryan, Hanna and Kaley Martin of Flat Rock; brothers, James Mann and Clifton Mann; and a sister, Alice Mae Merrill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Thelma Shannon.
