Obituary

Melvina Elaine Wooten, 79 of Grammer passed away Thursday March 6, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 22, 1945 in St. Louis Crossing she was the daughter of James and Mildred Shinolt Miller.

Before retirement Melvina was employed as a material buyer for Cosco/Dorel Company.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, bingo, bowling, NASCAR, the lottery and crocheting.  She loved her cat Calli.

She is survived by, a daughter, Crystal (Jamie) Prewitt of Seymour; grandchildren, Mia Prewitt of Seymour, Jordan (Ashlee) Prewitt of Plainfield and Amber (Darrin) Stidham of Seymour; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn Singleton of Columbus, Verne (Debbie) Miller of Columbus, Doc (Rita) Miller of San Leon, TX, Steve (Teresa) Miller of Sante Fe, TX, sister- in- law, Marilyn Miller of St. Louis Crossing and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Melvina will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday one hour prior to service time.  Burial will follow at Hawcreek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Columbus Animal Care Service, 2730 Arnold St., Columbus, IN 47203 or American Heart Association.

Melvina was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Everett, Karl and George Miller, brother-in-law, Dan Singleton and sister-in-law, Karen Miller.
