Mike "Apple" McNicholas, 61 of Columbus died
April 27, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
He worked at E.M.S. as a supervisor and janitor.
He was born April 19, 1953 in Columbus, Indiana.
He was the son of Maurice McNicholas and Alvera
Oliphant McNicholas. He married Terri Carman January
26, 1974 and she survives.
Mike graduated from the class of 1971 at Hauser High
School.
He loved gardening and antiqueing, was an avid
Yankee's fan and loved I.U. basketball.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Norman
Funeral Home in Hope with Pastors Tim Tallent and Don
Buck officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday from 10 until service time at the
funeral home. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery
west of Clifford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
donated to Norman Funeral Home to help with Mike's
funeral expenses or to the Bartholomew County Humane
Society through the funeral home.
Survivors include his mother, Alvera of Taylorsville; his
wife Terri of Columbus; siblings, Kathy Dobbs of Columbus,
Harold (Tina) McNicholas of Hope, Robert (Leigh) McNicholas
of Waterloo, IL.; brother-in-laws, Kim, Keith and Brian Carman;
sister-in-law, Barb Carman; numerous nieces and nephews;
great nieces and nephews; a great-great niece and his beloved
cats, Cheech, Tommy and Lily.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Maurice; his father-
in-law, Gerald Carman and his brother-in-law, Larry Dobbs.
