Obituary

Naomi R. Heuer, 97, of Shelbyville, formerly of Waldron, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Ashford Place Health Campus.

Naomi was a member and volunteered at Lewis Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of Eastern Star and had been a Past Worthy Matron. For many years, she had worked at Cunningham Gardens.

Naomi like gardening and her flowers. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Born on November 5, 1922 in Hope, Naomi was the daughter of George Clinton and Della Danner Burnes. She married Vernon E. Heuer on April 19, 1940, and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1989.

Survivors include children, Gary W. Heuer of Versailles, Steve (Geri) Heuer of Shelbyville, and Marilyn (Doug) Turner of Milan; 12 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Naomi is preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Kenneth P. Heuer and Judith A. Monroe; granddaughter, Brittany Heuer; and sisters, Ruby Thayer, Evelyn Weaver, Margaret McGrew, Helen Weaver, and Nina Robertson.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lewis Creek Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled through Norman Funeral Home.
