Jr. Southern (Noble), 88 passed away Monday October 5,
2015 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

He was a Master Carpenter still working everyday.
He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in
Garden City and the American Legion.
He loved Sprint Car Racing, working on cars and lawn
mowers, morotcycles and doing his carpentry work and
going to car auctions.
Born August 7, 1927 in Bloomington, he was the son
of Noble Southern and Ruby Hall McQueen. He married
Virginia Wood February 11, 1950 and she preceded him in
death March 19, 2000.
More than anything, Jr. was a great dad, and
grandfather, a loving husband and an all around good and
honest person. His name "Noble" fit him perfect.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Norman
Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Bob Reeves officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral
home. Burial with a military graveside service provided
by The Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard
will be at Sidney Cemetery near St. Louis Crossing.
Memorial contributions may be donated to St. Jude's
Children's Hospital through the funeral hone.
Survivors include children, Dorothy Kay (Art) Winkler
of Columbus, Roger (Kathy) Southern of Columbus, Nina
(Bob) Owens of Columbus and Doug Southern and
granddaughter, Ashlynn of Hope; grandchildren, Paula
Winkler of Hope, Jennifer Wilson of Columbus,
Tiffany (Daryl) Thomas of Columbus and Shannon
(Everett) Ison of Virginia Beach; great grandchildren,
Keaton, Brittany, Jacob, Klaeton, Owen, Isaac, Miya and
Ashlynn; great-great- grandchildren, Chloe and Norrin;
a sister, JoAnn Glasson of North Vernon.
Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, his wife,
a daughter, Becky Speers, a son, Terry Wayne, a
grandson, Brian Winkler, a sister, Jean Taylor and
brothers, Ray and Lee Sullivan.
