Noel A. Green Sr, 86 of Hope died Tuesday June 29, 2010 at Hospice of South Central Indiana.
He was retired from working in the factory at Cummins Engine Co. He was a member of the 25th Street Church of Christ in Columbus. He loved fishing and playing cards.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at 10:30 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Brace Rutledge officiating. Visitation will be today from 4 - 8 pm. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the Gideon International Bibles.
Born on September 16, 1923 in Clay County, TN, Mr. Green was the son of Robert and Dollie Moore Green. He married Evelyn R. Lynn on June 8, 1949 and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2000.
Survivors include children, Paul (Martha) Green of Columbus, Shirley (Delbert) Sweezy of Moss, TN, Elmer Wayne (Bonnie) Green of Edinburgh, Debbie (Jeff) Shumaker of Westerville, OH, Ken Green of Hope and Noel Jr. (Brenda) Green of Columbus; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren,1 great great grandchild, a sister, Rose (Fred) Browning of Fortville and a daughter in law, Lela Hix of Princeton, Ky.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Jones, Vergie Cross, Rindi Green; brothers, Carlos, Charlie, Jack, Bob, Elmer and Durwood Green; a son, Buddy Hix, a grandson Larry Hix and a granddaughter Kelly Green.
