Obituary

Norma Jean Purvis, 81 of Hartsville passed away Tuesday May 26, 2009 at 11:20 am at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
She was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Hartsville Church of Christ and active in the nursery for several years. She was a Cub Scout Den mother, volunteered at Miller's Merry Manor and an active volunteer and member of the Hartsville Fire Dept. Auxillary. She also loved to read.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Calling will be on Friday from 4:00-8:00 and on Sat. from 10:00 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hartsville College Cemetery. Memorials may be donated to Hospice of South Central Indiana at 2626 E. 17th St., Col. IN 47201 or through the funeral home.
Born on April 2, 1928 in Anderson, IN, Mrs. Purvis was the daughter of T. Lester and Verna Mae Hedrick Lewellen. She married Noble Purvis on Dec. 6, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2004.
Survivors include sons, Rick(Donna) Purvis and Robert(Nancy) Purvis both of Columbus; grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Shawn(Kyle) Purvis, Joseph Purvis and Benjamin(Danyel) Purvis all of Columbus and 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
