Oliver C. Powell, 82 of Columbus passed away at 4:05 a.m. Monday Dec. 22, 2008 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr Powell had retired from Golden Foundry after working there for 34 years. While staying at the convalescent center ,he loved to feed the wildlife. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Calling will be on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Born in Henderson,Ky on June 13, 1926 , he was the son of John R. and Mrytle McElroy Powell. He married Loucille Puckett on May 27, 1959 and she preceded him in death in 1995. Survivors include children Roy and Charles Pruett and Amanda (Fred) Baldwin all of Columbus; four grandchildren; one great grandchildren;brother Rick Powell of Brooklyn and a sister Martha Pence of Indianapolis He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and brothers Ernest, Huston and James Powell
