Opal Jean Wasson, 67, of Columbus passed away Sunday March 2, 2008
at 6:50 pm at Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Ms. Wasson was employed at Hills Department Store for many years.
She was a member of the Flat Rock Christian Church. She was an avid reader, gardener and soap opera fan. She loved canning, quilting and was a good cook and full of practical wisdom.
The funeral will be Thursday March 6 at 10:30 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with George Plantz officiating and Ms. Wasson's son, Roy "Mitch" Wasson assisting. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Born January 30, 1941 in Hazard, Ky., Ms. Wasson was the daughter of Elisha and Callie West Morris.
Survivors include; a daughter, Diane Pritchard of Columbus; sons, Roy "Mitch"(Lori) Wasson of Indpls., Virgil Tim (Joann) Wasson and David Wasson of Hope; a sister, Anna Hilderbrand of Norman, IN; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
