Obituary

Paul Larry Garwood, 73 of Hartsville passed away Saturday
February 25, 2012 at Heritage House Health Facility in Greensburg.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years as an Electrician
and a Chief Petty Officer. He also was retired from RCA and Arvin Meritor.
He was a member of the Hartsville United Methodist Church. He was a
chess player, an avid reader, collected stamps and loved to work with ametuer radio.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 12:00 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope
with Pastor Carl Greene officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time
Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Hawcreek- Flatrock Endowment Fund
through the funeral home.
Born January 15, 1939 in Bigsprings, Ohio, Paul was the son of Ernest and Nancy
Leone Hardin Garwood. He married Evelyn Wilson on February 6, 1959 in Indianapolis
and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Hartsville; children, Grant Garwood of New Orleans,
Charisse' Garwood of Hartsville, Brenda (Joseph) Smith of Ann Arbor, MI, Laura Beth (Daniel) Witt of
Chapman, KS, and Jay (Amanda) Estelle of Greenwood; grandchildren, Erin (Patrick) Leland
of Taylorsville, Michael (Dani) Smith of Ann Arbor, MI, Nicholas and Kiersten Estelle, both of
Chapman, KS and Zachery and Brendan Witt, both of Chapman, KS; great grandchildren,
Vivianne and Bethany Leland both of Taylorsville and Weylyn Smith of Ann Arbor, MI and
a sister, Paula Meeks of Indianapolis.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia Garwood and Delores Bunch and
brothers, Jack and Leebert Garwood.
