Paul "Mike" Rynerson, 65, of Columbus died Monday July 18, 2022 at Franciscan Health in Greenwood.
Born February 1, 1957 in Franklin, IN, he was the son of Paul Edwin Rynerson and Ruth Anne Hundley Rynerson. He married Melissa "Jan" Stone May 14, 1977 and she survives.
Mr. Rynerson had previously been employed at Cummins and Dolly Madison in the mainetance department.
He was an active member of 4H shooting sports, Indiana hunter education, a supporter of T.I.P., Ducks Unlimited, and the Wild Turkey Federation. He was a member of ABATE and was in a group called Widows Son. He was also a Mason of the Hope Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and firearms safety. He was a grand story teller who often stole the heart of whoever would lend him their ear.
Mr. Rynerson is survived by his father, Paul Edwin Rynerson of Columbus; his wife, Melissa "Jan" Rynerson of Columbus; son, Christopher Rynerson of Hope; daughters, Shelly Rynerson (Jason Niederhauser) of Columbus and Dusty (Skylar) Hammack of Columbus; grandchildren, Willow and Iris Rynerson, Cody Rynerson and Fox Niederhauser; siblings, Joe Rynerson of Whiteland and Vicki Sprague-Farlow of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Mr. Rynerson will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to service time on Friday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held following visitation on Thursday. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Indiana DNR for Camp Scholarships at the Karl E. Kelley Conservation Camp; please make checks payable to ICOO Karl Kelley Youth Camp.
