Obituary

Paul N. Whipker, 87 of Hope passed away Sunday June 27, 2010 at 8:35 pm at Miller's Merry Manor.
He was retired from Cummins as a machine repairman.
He was a member of the Hope Moravian Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a 50 year member of the Hope Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of WWII where he served in the U.S. Army.
Paul loved gardening, woodworking and spending
time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 am at the Hope Moravian Church with Rev. Bryan Trotter officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 -8 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and Thursday from 9:30 am until service time at the church. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery with military graveside honors.
Memorials may be donated to Riley Children's Hospital or American Cancer Society of Bartholomew County.
Born on October 30, 1922 in Columbus, IN, Paul was the son of Elmer Sr. and Beryl Talley Whipker. He married Barbara L. Ray September 24, 1950 at the Hope Moravian Chapel. She survives in Hope.
Also surviving are children, Brenda (Gary) McDonald of Hope, Donald Whipker of Chicago, IL and Paula (Doug) Prather of Columbus; grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Gephart of Columbus, Suzanne (Tony) McClain of Hope, Michael (Katie) Prather of Brownsburg, IN, Lisa (Dustin) McCartney of Hope and Angela Prather (Fiance' Brad McCarty) of Columbus; great grandchildren, Katelin Gephart of Columbus, Joshua McClain of Hope, Hailey Prather of Brownsburg, IN and Dinah McCartney of Hope; siblings, Hershel Whipker, Harry T. Whipker, David (Erna) Whipker, Bennie (Coral Mae) Whipker, Margaret (Harold) Volland, Elmer Jr. (Kris) Whipker and Alan (Karen) Whipker, all of Columbus and Elizabeth McKinney of Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Halford and Perry Don Whipker.
