Peggy Compton, 80, of Hope, IN passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her home.
She was retired as a cook at Miller's Merry Manor.
Peggy was a member of Hope First Baptist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Nascar, and college basketball.
Following her wishes, cremation is planned and a family graveside service will be held at a later date at Hawcreek Cemetery.
Born on March 9, 1936 in Adair Co., KY, Peggy was the daughter of Rev. Joe Ervin and Cordia Campbell Stotts. She married Stanley Compton on Dec. 17, 1955 at her home in Columbia, KY. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2013.
Survivors include son, David (Deanna) Compton of Hope; grandchildren, Jason (Jen) Colvin of North Vernon, Kaitlyn Colvin of Columbus, Jared and Justin Compton of Hope; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Tucker and Sawyer Colvin.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Dennis, Roger and Patricia; and 11 brothers and sisters.
