Peter J. Clay, 78 of Hope died Friday June 26, 2009 at Hospice of South Central Indiana.
He retired in 1993 from Stone Container, now Smurfit Stone Container.
He was a member of the Hope Community Church of God. He loved fishing, gardening and doing anything outside.
The funeral will be Monday June 29 at 1:00 pm at the Hope Community Church of God with Rev. Gerald Hancock officiating.
Calling will be Sunday from 1:00- 5:00 pm at the church and on Monday from noon until service time. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Born on July 12, 1930 in Louisville, Mississippi, Mr. Clay was the son of Herbert and Marguerite Shephard Franklin.
Survivors include his lifelong partner since 1951, Anita Wells Clay; daughters, Julia Leslie, Leah Frazee and Alise Pate, all of Hope and Cindy Clay of Columbus; grandchildren, David(Melissa) Bierlein of Taylorsville, Timothy Holley & Clayton White of Hope,
Christel, & Carin Chapman of Columbus and Peter Chapman of Elletsville; great grandchildren, Kegan Bierlein of Taylorsville and Anita Grace Chapman of Columbus: a sister, Ruth Fulcher of Louisville, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews in Mississippi, Tennessee and California.
Mr. Clay is preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters
