Philip "Mike" Allen, 77, of Hope, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born on January 26, 1947 in Columbus, Mike was the son of Cecil and Rosie Carnahan Allen. He married Darlene Bailey on September 19, 1969 at Free Methodist Church in Columbus. Mike served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969. He received an associate's degree from Purdue University.

Before retirement, Mike was employed as a design engineer at Cummins. After retirement, Mike worked as a consultant at several businesses including South Central Company and Menards.

Mike enjoyed golf, wood carving, and woodworking. In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Hope; son, Christopher "Chris" Allen of Hope; sister, Constance (Dale) Dooley of The Villages, FL; several nieces and nephews; and his German Shepherd, Dex.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edgar Allen; and sister, Alice Christine Adams.

Following Mike's wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
