Raymond L. Smith, 94 of Hope died Wed. Dec. 26 at 11:35 a.m. at Columbus
Health and Rehab. Center.
Mr. Smith was a partner in the Hope Lumber Co. He was a member of the
Experimental Aircraft Assoc.,built his own aircraft, loved archery, photography and bow
hunting.
The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m Saturday at Norman Funeral Home with Rev.
Virl Murray officiating. Calling will be today from 4 to 7 pm and also on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until servce time. Burial will be at Mud Pike Cemetery in Ripley Co.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
Born in Ripley Co. Dec. 19, 1913 , Mr. Smith was the son of Albert T. and
Edna E. Parsons Smith. He married Mary Shorten in 1934 and she preceded him in death in
July 1995.
Survivors include a son Robert D. (Jean) Smith of Hope, a daughter
Patricia (Steve) Foist of Columbus, Grandchildren Vickie (Bill) Wylonis of Columbus and
Tim (Judi) Smith of Columbus, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister
Lucy Fullmer.
