Rebekkah Lynne Spears 52 of Hope went home to Jesus on Sunday Nov.
25, 2007 at 9:00 am. Rebekkah was born on August 14, 1955 in Greensburg ,In. She was the daughter of Noble Jay and Virginia Elizabeth Wood Southern.
Rebekkah was a 1973 graduate of Hauser High School in Hope.
She worked for many years as a waitress at Skooters #1 on Central Ave. in Columbus before becoming a realtor with Remax.
Rebekkah was formerly married to Don Spears of Columbus. They were married August 3, 1974. They have a daughter , Shannon Spears of Hope who was born on April 3, 1976.
She is survived by her daughter Shannon (Nathan) of Hope. her
father Noble "Junior" Jay Southern of Columbus, sister Dorothy ( Art) Winkler of Clifford,
brother Roger (Kathy) Southern of Columbus, sister Nina (Bob) Owens of Columbus and
brother Doug (Stacey) Southern of Westport.
Also surviving are nieces Paula Winkler of Hope, Jennifer
(Brittany and Jacob) Wilson of Hope, and Tiffany (Keaton,Klaeton and Owen) Southern of
Columbus and Whitney and Jenny Bunting of Westport.
Her lifelong love of 14 years , Rex Baker of Columbus and his
family also survive.
She was preceded in death by her mother , Virginia Southern.
She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Servivces will be conducted at Cornerstone Baptist on Jonesville
Rd. in Garden City by Pastor Bob Reeves on Thursday Nov. 29, 2007 with a celebration of
Becky's life from 1 to 3 p.m. with calling to follow from 3 to 6 pm. Arrangements were by
Norman Funeral Home in Hope.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be givern to Bartholomew County
Humane Society or Cornerstone Baptist Church.
