Reece H. "Sonny" Shanks, 67 of Greensburg died at 3:30 am at St. Frances Hospital and Health Care Center in Beech Grove. He had worked at Daily Farms and had previously worked for Napolian Lumber Co. for 13 years. He was a member of the Lighthouse Chapel Church in Greensburg and attended Edinburgh Full Gospel Church. He was a lifetime member of Greensburg Moose Lodge 2203. He loved working outside and visiting with family and friends. The funeral will be conducted on Thurs. March 5 at 1:00 pm at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Douglas Smith and Rev. Lee Creech officiating. Viewing will be on Wed. from 4:00- 8:00 and on Thurs. from 11:00 until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts, IN. Born in Holton, IN on April 29, 1941, Mr. Shanks was the son of Nelson D. "Doc" and Geneva Noyes Shanks. He married Verna Cline and she survives. Other survivors include 2 sons, Danny (Lisa) Kennedy of Hope and Randy Kennedy of Greensburg; 2 daughters, Keri(Joseph) Campos of Greensburg and Carol(Marvin Nickell) Stuehrenburg of Osgood;13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Mr. Shanks was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Shanks; a sister Carolyn Oliphant, a daughter, Sandra Powers, a granddaughter Teresa Wilson and an uncle Earl A. Noyes.
