Richard "Rick" R. Raeder, 71 of Hope passed away Friday May 14, 2021 at Miller's Merry Manor.

Born October 29, 1948 in Mobridge, SD, Rick was the son of Adam and Alice Hanson Raeder.  He married Lou Ann Thompson and she preceded him in death March 26, 2020.

Rick is survived by children, Angela Ulrey of Seymour, Lucretia (Doug) Johnson of Hope and Ryan (Morgan) McDaniel of Hope; grandchildren, Trey Johnson, Koby Johnson, Isaiah McDaniel, Paige McDaniel, Dustin Ulrey and Shayla Ulrey; a sister, Diana Doss of Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and siblings, Donna, Marcella, Bob, Jerald, Jeanne and Linda.

Rick served in the U.S. Army.

He had previously been a member of the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Church.  He enjoyed playing games, especially cards, and working puzzles. He loved spending time with his family.  He was a real jokester and loved to talk and laugh with people.

Cremation is planned for Rick and there will not be any services.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Norman Funeral Home.
