Obituary

Robert B. Rowe, 80 of Hope died Wednesday November 4, 2009 at Keepsake Village in Columbus.
He had been superintendent of Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corporation for many years. He had also been a salesman at Bill Dunfee Cheverolet and a driving instructor at AA Driving School. He graduated from Franklin College in the early 50's and began his career as a teacher and coach.
He was a member and an ordaned deacon at the First Baptist Church of Hope. He had served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed bingo and playing pool. He was an avid Cubs fan.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Hope with Revs. Tim Tallent and Mark Walker officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Parkinsons Foundation.
Born on August 23, 1929 in Monroe County, Mr. Rowe was the son of Basil and Mae Farley Rowe. He married Jerri Adkins on November 15, 1953 and she preceded him in death on December 31, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Beth(Jeff) Albert of Hope; a son, Robert E.(LeeAnn) Rowe of Hope; grandchildren, Christell(Tim) Tallent of Columbus, Zachary Rowe of Boggstown, Joshua Rowe of Boggstown, Jeremy Albert of Indianapolis and Bridget Rowe of Hope; great granddaughter, Adrianne Tallent of Columbus; a sister, Hazel(Phil) Schell of Newport, NC; a good friend, Sally Campbell of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rowe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son, Mike Rowe.
