Rodney Delbert DeSpain, 61, of Hartsville, died July 15, 2018.
Born March 30, 1957 in Columbus, Rodney was the son of Delbert DeSpain and June Bell DeSpain McKay.
He married Kathy Robertson on August 23, 2003, and she survives.
Rodney was previously employed as a mail carrier for Federal Express.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes for over 30 years with his friends. He also enjoyed video games and playing golf. In previous years, he liked riding his Harley.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Hartsville; his mother, June Bell McKay of Hartsville; a stepson, Dustin Cox of Columbus; a granddaughter, Skyla Cox of Columbus; nephews, Jason DeSpain of Hartsville and Justin (Casey) DeSpain of Elizabethtown; great-nephews, Anthony and Keller DeSpain of Hartsville; sister-in-law, Vickie DeSpain of Hartsville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be a memorial visitation for Rodney on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. Following the visitation, at 7 p.m. will be a time of sharing memories.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Steve DeSpain.
