Obituary

 Roxanne DeWitt, 71, of Austin, IN passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Norton Scott Hospital in Scottsburg. 

 Roxanne was born on June 21, 1955 in Indianapolis and was the daughter of William and Dorothy Wheeler Dickey. She married Harold "Joe" DeWitt on February 25, 1974, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. 

 She was primarily a housewife, taking care of her family and fostering over 50 children with her husband throughout the years. Her passion was spending time her grandbabies, great-grand babies, and her entire family. Roxanne enjoyed reading, going to auctions, and baking cakes for many people. She loved animals, especially her own pets. 

 Survivors include her husband, Joe; daughter, Shelley (Michael) Day of Austin, IN; grandchildren, Nathan (Sarah Johnson) Foster of Austin, IN, Casey Foster, Joseph Foster, Michael Day, and Kylie (Tobias Jenkins) Day; great-grandchildren, Benson Foster, Aidence Day, Elijah Day, Kaede Jenkins, Zhyaire Jenkins, Nahzir Jenkins, Zemirrah Phillips, Zander Day, Ezekiel Phillips, and Zyler Phillips; siblings, Bill Dickey of Salem, Bob (Mary) Dickey of Columbus, and Pete Dickey of Hope; and several nieces and nephews.

 Roxanne is preceded in death by her parents; son, Corey Joe DeWitt; and siblings, Rita Wood, Nancy Reed, and Leslie Dickey.

 A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12 at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor George Willette officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

 Memorial contributions may be given to The Villages of Indiana Foundation, Inc.
