Ruth E. Worrell Harker, 87 of Flat Rock died Saturday May 8, 2010 at 9:30 pm at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hope Moravian Church, Moravian Ladies Society, Moravian Kola Class, Mission Society,
Norristown Order of Eastern Star, Lucky 15 Home Economics Club, and 4-H Leader for more than 25 years of the Noble Merry Sewing Club.
She loved spending time with family, gardening, cooking reading and playing the piano and organ. She was an avid sewer and an avid collector of rocks and coins. She also took painting classes.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 am at the Hope Moravian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and Thursday from 9:30 until service time at the church. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the Moravian Kola Class, Lucky 15 Home Economics Club or Norristown Order of Eastern Star.

Born December 22, 1922 in Hope, IN, Mrs. Harker was the daughter of Glenn and Gayle Foutch Worrell. She married John E. Harker on September 13, 1941 and he survives.
Also surviving are children, Harry E. (Darlene) Harker of Hope, Phillip E. (Sharron) Harker of Flat Rock, Dr. John D. (Barbara) Harker of Hope, Joe W. (Debbie) Harker of Waldron, Linda L. (Ted) Finke of Hope, and Brenda S. Embry of Gilbert, AZ; a brother, Robert Worrell of Knoxville, TN; twenty two grandchildren, thirty eight great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
Mrs. Harker was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis A. Harker; sisters, Mildred McNeely and Marjorie Simmons and brothers, Kenneth Worrell, Don Worrell and Glenn Worrell Jr.
