Ruth Ann Roberts, 81, of Hartsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Ruth spent her life as a homemaker and helping her husband farm. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hope. She enjoyed cooking, watching Hallmark movies, and working on the farm. Ruth loved children and was a grandmother to all.
Born on January 28, 1938 in Taft, Texas, Ruth was the daughter of Harry Winard and Eunice Irene Rudicel Dunkelbarger. She had been married to the love of her life, Alvin Roberts for 63 years. They were married on November 21, 1956 at Burney Baptist Church by Rev. Wesley Crinshaw. She was his "Yellow Texas Rose."
Survivors include husband, Alvin, of Hartsville; sons, Don Roberts, Don (Brooke) Roberts, Jr., Clay Roberts, and Jeremy (Georgeanne) Roberts; daughter, Robin (Cody) Ritchie; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Schwartzkopf; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene Dunkelbarger and John Dunkelbarger; and sisters, Lois Dunkelbarger, Dorothy Allen, and Carol Swegman.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hope with Pastor Dennis Chasteen officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or First Baptist Church of Hope.
