Sarah F. Moore, 96, of Hope, was surrounded by her family at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility as she went to be with her heavenly Father Monday evening, July 7, 2014. She was born in Flat Rock, Indiana, August 21, 1917, to Ernest and Martha Bright Seward. She married Orvel Moore December 25, 1939. He passed away November 19, 1979.

Sarah was a Christian woman who loved the Lord. Her hobbies included reading, organic gardening, caring for her roses, holistic health, reflexology and irodology. She was always a very generous lady who loved helping others. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She formerly worked for Arvin Industries and then at GE/Wellman's, where she retired after 26 years. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of United Methodist Women.
She was grand marshal of the Hope Heritage Days Parade in 2001 along with her great-granddaughter, Sarah Bailey.

Survivors include her children, Pearl Coomer of Newark, Illinois, Bill (Sigrun) Moore of Indianapolis, Bob (Wilma) Moore of Avon, Martha (Irvin) Mayes of Hope, Max (Darlena) Moore and Joyce (Chuck) Springhorn of Columbus; 22 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-great-grandchildren.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ella Taggart of Oregon; two brothers, Ivan Seward of Hope and Glen Seward of Cincinnati; a son-in-law, Thurman Coomer; and a grandchild, Raymond Coomer.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hope United Methodist Church on Washington Street with Pastor Warren Kirk officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
