Stanley E. Compton, 80 of Frostproof, FL. died Tuesday July 23, 2013 in Winter Haven, FL.
He was retired from Cummins and was a veteran of the U.S. Army
serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Hope Conservation Club and had formerly been a little league baseball coach. He loved hunting and fishing.
A military graveside service to bury his cremains will be
Sunday at 1:00 p.m
. at Hawcreek Cemetery. Visitation will follow at Norman Funeral Home from 2 - 5 Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to Hope Summer Playground.
Born December 3, 1932 in Columbia, Ky., Stanley was the son of James Riley and Della Ray England Compton. He married Peggy Stotts
December 17, 1955 in Kentucky and she survives in Florida.
Other survivors include a son David (Deanna) Compton of Hope; grandsons Jared and
Justin Compton
of Hope; a granddaughter Caitlyn Colvin of Columbus and a brother Jay T. (Norma Ruth) Compton of Hope.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Dennis Compton; a daughter Patricia Compton Colvin and a brother Charles Compton.
