Stella L. Bohannon, 81 of Clifford went home to meet her Savior at 8:00 p.mFriday Oct. 3, 2008 at Silver Oaks Health Center. Born Feb. 5, 1927 in Green County KY., she was the only child of Charlie and Viola Skaggs Carter. She moved to Clifford in 1941. Stella married Ben Bohannon on Feb.11, 1943. They were married for 53 years when he left us to be with the Lord on July 17, 1996. She was a homemaker and she loved going to church and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include a son Billy Bohannon and his wife Mildred of Clifford; a daughter Betty Mikel and her husband Richard of Columbus; two grandaughters, Brenda Phillips (husband Gary) and Becky Thurpin (husband Roger) both of Clifford; two grandsons, Jimmy Lazzell (wife Shannon) of Hartsville and Jason Lazzell of Clifford; a grandaughter in heart Carrie Pitts of Columbus; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Carrigan officiating. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Flatrock Baptist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
