Steve "Leroy" DeSpain, 67, of Hartsville, died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
Before retirement, Steve was self-employed in construction. He enjoyed fishing and boating.
Born on August 6, 1949, Steve was the son of Delbert DeSpain and Eleanor "June" Bell McKay. He married Vickie Allen on April 21, 1979, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother of Hartsville; sons, Jason DeSpain of Hartsville and Justin (Casey) DeSpain of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Anthony and Keller DeSpain, both of Hartsville; and brother, Rod (Kathy) DeSpain of Hartsville.
Steve is preceded in death by his father.
In honoring Steve's wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hartsville Fire Department.
