Susan O. Douglas, 74, of Hope, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Susan worked as a writer for the Indy Star and other newspapers. She received a Masters degree from Indiana University.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Indiana Historical Society. She enjoyed writing and working on the computer.

Born on December 2, 1943 in Needham Township, Susan was born to Laurence and Esther Handy Owens. She married Lloyd Douglas on October 12, 1973, and he survives.

Other survivors include brothers, Lloyd B. Owens of Coshocton, OH and Forest Owens of Terre Haute; and sister, Charlotte Owens of Ohio.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church in Columbus.
