Thelma Louise Mace Stone, 89, of Hope passed away Tuesday April 22 at 4:10 a.m. at her home.
Mrs. Stone was born January 11, 1919, she was the daughter of James Henry and Ida Catherine Whitehead Mace. She married Lloyd A. Stone April 29, 1937 and he preceded her in death.
She retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1977 with over 20 years of service. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and had been a Past Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Columbus Chapter # 339, Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the Hope First Baptist Church. She also loved square dancing, camping, knitting, crocheting and her family.
Calling will be Thursday, April 24, from 4 to 8:00 p.m., with an Eastern Star memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Walker officiating. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of South Central Indiana or donor's choice in memory of Mrs. Stone.
Survivors include sons, Ernest (Barbara) Stone of Columbus, David (Sharon) Stone of Sumter, South Carolina, Edwin Stone of Hope and Edward (Marcia) Stone of Clifford, a daughter-in-law, Norma Jean Stone Hitchcock, 10 grandchildren, Jan (Mike) Rynerson, Darryl (Colleen) Stone, Pete (Cindy) Stone, Paul Stone, Jeff (Sue) Stone, Judy (Andy) Palmer, Donna (Kevin) Patterson, Melanie Stone and Michael (Dana) Stone, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a brother Johnny (Jan) Mace of Brown County, sisters Martha Kinsey of Columbus and Melba (Glenn) Bonsett of Jeffersonville and a brother-in-law Marvin (Phyllis) Stone of Brown County.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, a son Larry W. Stone, a granddaughter Betty Louise Stone, a daughter-in-law, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
