Thomas Eugene Hartenberger, 70 of Hope died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 27, 2008 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Hartenbarger graduated from Woodward High School in Toledo,Ohio in 1957. He served in the Air National Guards and retired from U.S. Corrugated Fiber Box Co.in Indianapolis and also went on to own T & J Sales and Service in Fairland. He was a member of St Mark Lutheran Church in Shelbyville andhe enjoyed being with his family and friends. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 30 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Shelbyville with Pastor Whitecotton officiating. Born In Indianapolis on September 2, 1938 , Mr Hartenberger was the son of Rev. Henry and Velma Neimeier Hartenbarger. Survivors include a daughter Dawn (Dick) Deiwert of Hope with whom he had resided and a son Tom (Janice) Hartenbarger,Jr. of Rushville; a brother Toby Milroy of Seymour; sisters June (Ed) McCullough of Bradenton, Florida, Sally (Gary) Kelley of Floyd Knobs , Susie Graves of Seymour and Priscilla Grant; grandchildren Rick and Kristal Deiwert, Jeanette Robinson, Chris Taggart and Amanda Dick and eight greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents , a brother and a great-grandchild. Arrangements were handled by Norman Funeral Home.
