Tim Tatman, 57 of Hartsville died Monday August 23, 2010 as the result of an auto accident.
Mr. Tatman was employed at Faurecia in Columbus as a fork lift driver. He was a member of the Greensburg Moose Lodge and several other fraternal organizations in Decatur County.
He also had been a former member of the Hartsville Town Board, deputy marshall for Hartsville and member of the Hartsville Fire Dept. He was a golf enthusiast and also loved to play cards and enjoyed many outdoor sports. He attended school at Burney and North Decatur.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Morris Hannah officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A Moose ritual will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Lower Union Presbyterian Cemetery in Decatur County.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mooseheart Childrens Home or the donors choice of charities.
Born in Decatur County on January 13, 1953 , he was the son of Harold "Taft" and Edna Mantooth Tatman. He married Carol Mote Banks in Hartsville on June 27, 1973 and she survives.
Other survivors include children Michele (Brent) Ramey of Hartsville, Jeff (Amy) Banks of Hope and Jim (Lori) Banks of Beaufort, N.C.; grandchildren Shayne and Cody Britton and Logan Ramey of Hartsville, Collin, Eli and Maggie Banks of Hope and Josie and Jamie Banks of North Carolina; sisters Mary (Joe) Sage of Hartsville, Judy (Ken) Hornbeck of Greensburg; brothers David (Ann) Tatman of Greensboro, Ala., Gerald Tatman of Madison, Jim (Faye) Tatman of Greensburg and a sister-in-law Eileen (Jim) Taylor of Milford and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jack Tatman.
